It is almost 4 AM now as I write this, but I am really excited to tell you that my one-page comic, "Smoke" (which I promised to upload last time) has been completed and is ready for you to read!  Here you go, read Smoke!

To recap the history of this piece, it was inspired by the Illustration Friday topic of last week.  I actually coloured one of the panels from this comic and posted it as my entry at that time, as I had not completed the comic.  Well, today I post-processed the whole thing and digitally lettered it, and am quite happy with the result!

This would be the third in my "Dark Tales" series of one-page comics, and probably the best of the lot.  As earlier mentioned, it has a strong science-fiction/horror slant.

Be warned though, this contains a bit of coarse language and gore, so is not suitable for kids.  Anyway, go ahead and read Smoke!

Well, it has been quite a while since I did a drawing, and what better source of inspiration than Illustration Friday for that?  The topic this time is "Smoke" and I didn't just come up with one image, I made a one-page comic out of the concept.  It's strongly science-fiction/horror inspired, and I think it came out pretty nicely for something done within a couple of hours.  Unfortunately, it is not ready yet for viewing — while I have drawn the panels, I need to post-process the thing and actually letter the comic digitally.  I will post that once it is done.

But does that mean there is nothing for you to see?  Not at all!  Here, have a look at the cover for "Smoke", the comic written and drawn by yours truly, coming soon!

Speaking of comics, I came across this very good webcomic called The Retriever, by Daniel Fu, today.  I've read the first book and whatever has been posted of the second.  The first book provided quite an interesting read, but it was the ending that really impressed me!  Anyway, have a look for yourself.
