About this drawing

A drawing of the poster for Evil Dead II!  This was done on a notebook cover in pencil (in office!), and later edited in Photoshop.  I enhanced the brightness and contrast of the image to make the blacks darker and increase the texture overall (as usual), but didn't make many more changes to the image.  I wanted to add colours to it, but it looked bad when I tried, so the only colour contribution over the original is the red eyes.  I did add a "shadow" layer, though, which increased the darkness in certain areas.  Other additions are the background and the text.  Compare this with the original below —

The movie, of course, is a cult classic that I love — a superb combination of horror and slapstick comedy, with an awesome hero character — Bruce Campbell's "Ash", and some wild and crazy ideas, all courtesy writer-director Sam Raimi!  I saw this for the first time in 1998, after having watched the first entry and buying the others on video.  Before seeing the entire movie, I watched the first scene (the intro to the movie) and was pretty amazed at what I saw, as the animation and visuals in that were fantastic, and so was the narration.  That experience has always stuck in my mind, hence I used the words from the opening narration in this picture.  The poster for the movie is also a unique one, though you never see anything like that in the movie itself.  The subtitle "Dead by Dawn" was popularised by the poster, and is not actually part of the movie's name (on screen, it is just Evil Dead II).

Since I uploaded my older "Evil Dead II" drawing also at the same time as this one, I wanted to name them differently (hence the subtitle).  "The Master Cylinder" is actually a reference to Raimi, as that was how he was credited as in the end titles of The Dead Next Door.

Dark Fate 2 — a Doom II map by Karthik Abhiram

Dark Fate 2 is a singleplayer level for Doom II, replacing MAP01.  It's a small-sized hellish level — and there's a walkthrough video as well.
