My Intermediate I Year Exams got over and I saw this movie that afternoon on STAR Movies.

One Down Two To Go (1983)seen 17 Apr 98 · 4 out of 10

The sound quality of the print they showed on STAR Movies was bad.  So I didn't like this movie as much as I probably might have otherwise.

Titanic (1997)seen 19 Apr 98 · 8 out of 10

OK, so this may have been the big box-office hit of the year but I didn't think it was really THAT excellent.  But it was a very good movie though.

Mr. Canton and Lady Rose (1989)seen 19 Apr 98 · 9 out of 10

This movie was shown so many times before on STAR Movies, this time I got to see it.

Point Break (1991)seen 22 Apr 98 · 8 out of 10

Watched this at night in theatre.  Excellent movie.

STAR Movies showed this a few times a while before, but this was the time I actually saw the movie fully.

The Full Monty (1997)seen 22 May 98 · 8 out of 10

Saw this on tape.

The French Connection (1975)seen 4 Jun 98 · 8 out of 10

Watched on STAR Movies.

Sphere (1998)seen 5 Jun 98 · 7 out of 10

Pretty impressive that they stayed more or less close to the Michael Crichton novel.

George of the Jungle (1997)seen 14 Jun 98 · 7 out of 10

Transylvania Twist (1989)seen 15 Jun 98 · 8 out of 10

This was the day my II Year Intermediate started.  I watched this movie at night that day.  One of those hidden gems!

Chasers (1994)seen 27 Jun 98 · 3 out of 10

Positively awful movie.

The Replacement Killers (1998)seen 28 Jun 98 · 7 out of 10

Saw this in the theatre.  Exciting watching Chow Yun-Fat in his first American Release.  But the movie was OK, at best.

Who Am I? (1998)seen 2 Jul 98 · 7 out of 10

Surprise!  Siti Cable showed this, and I recorded it.  I think it had not come out in theatres yet at the time!

Once Upon A Time In China (1991)seen 3 Jul 98 · 8 out of 10

First time they showed this movie on STAR Movies.

Watched this in theatre.  Efficient action movie, unfortunately I didn't like it very much!

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1998)seen 18 Jul 98 · 5 out of 10

Varun actually bought the tape some time back, but I saw this when Siti Cable showed it.  It was a far better print of the movie, but that didn't help - the movie itself is not very good!

Back to the Future (1985)seen 21 Jul 98 · 9 out of 10

I watched all three Back to the Future several times before 1994.  I think this was when they showed it on Siti Cable.

Kiss of Death (1995)seen 22 Jul 98 · 6 out of 10

Once Upon A Time In China II (1992)seen 31 Jul 98 · 8 out of 10

I liked this better than the first one!

Pulp Fiction (1994)seen 1 Aug 98 · 10 out of 10

Pulp Fiction never got a proper theatrical release here - here it ran for not even a week, and that too, there was only one show during those days, the 9:45 PM one.  Remarkably, nothing was censored!  This is one of my all-time favourite movies and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to see it on the big screen!  I later bought the video.

The Cannonball Run (1981)seen 10 Aug 98 · 3 out of 10

I watched this movie only because Jackie Chan was in it.  Unfortunately he was in it very briefly and the movie was awful.

Bullet in the Head (Director's Cut) (1990)seen 14 Aug 98 · 9 out of 10

This was the English dubbed version shown on STAR Movies.  Some of the violence was cut of course, but otherwise I think this was actually the Director's Cut.

Masters of the Universe (1987)seen 21 Aug 98 · 5 out of 10

When I was a small child I used to like He-Man so much... but when I watched this movie again it was quite laughable!

That Thing You Do! (1996)seen 22 Aug 98 · 7 out of 10

Blood Screams (1988)seen 27 Aug 98 · 6 out of 10

STAR Movies has shown several weird movies in it's time and this is one of them.  A low budget movie.

Crime Story (1993)seen 28 Aug 98 · 8 out of 10

STAR Movies showed this, a serious Jackie Chan movie.

Godzilla (1998)seen 29 Aug 98 · 6 out of 10

This was when I watched it in the theatre.

The Professional (1994)seen 30 Aug 98 · 9 out of 10

Although I had the tape of the movie for a very long time, this was the first time that I really sat down and watched it properly.  Needless to say, this was an awesome movie on many levels!

The Relic (1996)seen 5 Sep 98 · 6 out of 10

STAR Movies.

The Evil Dead (1982)seen 9 Sep 98 · 8 out of 10

Well, after I bought the (censored) tape of this movie, it got me hooked onto the entire Evil Dead series!

Mortal Kombat (1995)seen 11 Sep 98 · 7 out of 10

I finally got to see this movie thanks to STAR Movies.  Entertaining, but director Paul Anderson went on to do better stuff!

Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn! (1987)seen 19 Sep 98 · 8 out of 10

I bought this and Army of Darkness at the same time.  Didn't I tell you I was hooked?

The Tie That Bindsseen 2 Oct 98 · 6 out of 10

Another one of those vague movies they showed on STAR Movies.  Not bad.

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Dead (1992)seen 3 Oct 98 · 8 out of 10

We shifted our house to the current place at that time.  This was one of the first movies I watched.

Poltergeist (1982)seen 6 Oct 98 · 6 out of 10

Saw this one on TNT.  Somehow I didn't really like this movie.

Half a Loaf of Kung-Fu!seen 9 Oct 98 · 6 out of 10

Watched this (where else?) on STAR Movies.  Early Jackie Chan movie, not very good.

The X Files: Fight the Future (1998)seen 13 Oct 98 · 9 out of 10

I think I saw this one on tape before I saw it in the theatre.

Lethal Weapon 4 (1998)seen 19 Oct 98 · 6 out of 10

Jet Li was in this one.  Theatre.  Didn't like it.

Saw this on Siti Cable.

Snake Eater II: The Drug Busterseen 26 Nov 98 · 6 out of 10

Very low budget movie starring Lorenzo Lamas.

Executive Decision (1996)seen 27 Nov 98 · 8 out of 10

This is another one of those tapes that I bought a long time back.  I watched it properly only on this day.

The Punisher (1989)seen 2 Dec 98 · 5 out of 10

Siti Cable showed this.  I didn't like the movie.

Rage (1995)seen 11 Dec 98 · 6 out of 10

Siti Cable showed this.  A PM Entertainment Release starring Gary Daniels.  Some excellent action scenes and a fast pace but overall the movie wasn't great.

Blade (1998)seen 25 Dec 98 · 8 out of 10

Watched this on the computer, on CD.

John Carpenter's Prince of Darknessseen 30 Dec 98 · 6 out of 10

I thought the movie would be better.

Dark Fate 2 — a Doom II map by Karthik Abhiram

Dark Fate 2 is a singleplayer level for Doom II, replacing MAP01.  It's a small-sized hellish level — and there's a walkthrough video as well.
