The Review

World Kickboxing Champ Don "The Dragon" Wilson stars as Dr. Johnny Wu, who is in a jewellery store with his fianceé Julie (Maria Ford) when the store is attacked by a gang led by Kalin (Ian Jacklin).  In the fight and subsequent high-speed car chase that ensues (in the first 6 minutes of the movie, no less!) Kalin's brother gets injured, and is later taken to the same hospital where Julie is (she was shot in the arm).  Kalin and his gang members try to take the brother out of the hospital, and Johnny intervenes.  This results in Kalin's brother getting shot.  Kalin swears revenge, and kidnaps Julie.  To rescue her, Johnny must go underground, where he will encounter all kinds of gangs before he can reach Kalin's lair.  He has some help from his friends (Dale Jacoby, Ron Yuan, Vince Murdocco, Eric Lee) too.

This is a good action movie that has almost continuous fights.  It's all done with a sense of fun - and there are some nice moments provided by Eric Lee as Kwong.  There's also a transvestite DJ who keeps you up to date with what's happening between "Dr. Do-Good" and "Mr. K".  Good fun indeed.

The movie is far better than the first Ring of Fire was.  It doesn't have all that much to do with the first film except that many of the characters appear again (I liked Michael DeLano's character, Lopez the cop).  And Ron Yuan contributes a song to the soundtrack.

If you are a fan of PM Entertainment movies, Don "The Dragon" Wilson movies, or in general, this type of low-budget kickboxing action movie, Ring of Fire II should be right up your alley!  Otherwise, you may want to give it a pass.

Ratings Info

I rate all movies or game add-ons on a scale of 1 to 10 points.  1 is the lowest score, 6 is barely above average, 8 is good, and 10 is excellent (this score doesn't indicate something that is perfect in every way — it just means that I enjoyed it a lot).  You'll find that I tend to give ratings of 8 and above often (that's only because I enjoy whatever I'm reviewing!).  Reviews are updated as felt necessary.  Of course, everything said in these reviews is my humble opinion only.

Dark Fate 2 — a Doom II map by Karthik Abhiram

Dark Fate 2 is a singleplayer level for Doom II, replacing MAP01.  It's a small-sized hellish level — and there's a walkthrough video as well.
