On 2nd, I started my Final Year Engineering Project at Rendezvous on Chip Pvt. Ltd. A lot of the people from my class (Computer Science branch) at college - about 25 I think - are doing the project in the same company. On 2nd we decided our projects and the teams that would work on them. With me are Ganeshan, Nagesh and Srikanth, and I can't say yet exactly what our project is (I have reasons for that), but it involves Linux, C programming (not normal C, this time, we go kernel mode!), and a bit of hardware! We are at ROC from Mondays to Thursdays, 9 AM - 5 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays we have college.
For some days now, we will be trained on the prerequisites for doing our project. The four of us on this project have learnt a LOT in the last three days. Today we learnt how to add a module to the Linux kernel while it's running. All this stuff is really interesting since we've never done anything of this kind before! And I am enjoying working with Nagesh, Srikanth and Ganeshan - the four of us have similar ways of programming and thinking so things are going well. The environment at ROC is also excellent - everyone is very professional and the projects given to us have all been well planned and thought out. In short, we're having fun (coffee and tea over there is great too, by the way!!), I hope we will be able to do a great job on our project!
Right now I'm downloading a book called Advanced Linux Programming (link is to a 3 MB PDF file, don't just click it, right click instead!), which is supposed to be helpful for our project.
Dark Fate 2 is a singleplayer level for Doom II, replacing MAP01. It's a small-sized hellish level — and there's a walkthrough video as well.
