I think it is time to talk a little bit about my 4th Year Engineering Project Work.  I am doing my Project Work in ROC, and working along with my friends Nagesh, Ganeshan and Srikanth.  What we are doing is building a Linux Serial Device Driver and GUI Application.  We are writing a device driver, for Linux (kernel version 2.4, we're using Red Hat 7.3), that will enable us to receive and send characters from the serial port (COM2), and we're also writing a GUI Application similar to HyperTerminal in Windows.

Now there has been a rumour going around the past few days that we've ALREADY finished our project (heh)!  Let me state once and for all that that is NOT true, we have finished the DESIGN for our project and we know what we have to do, but we are yet to write and build the whole thing.  After all, it was planned that we'd get it done by February, so there's time and a lot of work to do.  It's very interesting though, and we're learning a lot of new things.

Project Work is there from Monday to Thursday, and college is on Friday and Saturday.  Only till 1:10 PM, which is very good!  After I came home today I watched Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter at 3:30 PM on HBO.  I didn't like it much.  The fact that it was censored heavily (and I watched it in the afternoon - not the best time to see a horror movie) might have worked against it, but even otherwise I didn't think it was scary, and I thought the characters were obnoxious.  Jason Voorhees is a memorable movie monster, but there wasn't enough of him in this movie.  In all these respects I thought Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (which I watched a few days back) was much better, it was scary and fun!

I also made a wallpaper today, this one has a white background and in the bottom right corner there's the Cyberdemon from one of the panels in One Doomed Day in the Base!, my Doom comic.  I need to put aside some time to get a wallpapers section up on this site.  When I do I'll add this one.
