Movies, College, Art

Yesterday, I watched Spy Kids on STAR Movies.  I had high expectations for this movie because of what I'd read about it, and also because it's from director Robert Rodriguez (who also made the movies From Dusk Till Dawn and Desperado, two movies I admire for their style and entertainment value).  And I wasn't disappointed at all.  The movie was excellent!  I will write a review for it pretty soon.  On Monday they're also showing this movie Dude, Where's My Car?, which I am waiting to see!

I also did a new drawing yesterday, whish I have scanned but I haven't put on the site yet.  This is another Doom-related picture called Get the Megasphere! which is based on some of the original Doom cover artwork.  I am planning to colourise, edit and add some effects to it and then I'll put up the finished picture.  Probably I will also use it as a title or intermission screen in a future Doom level of mine.

Today I watched the Miss World 2002 Pageant Live on STAR World.  Is it just me or was the whole thing drastically shortened?  86 contestants were introduced, then they jumped directly to the 20 semi finalists and before I knew it they were crowning Miss Turkey!  Anyway it was interesting to watch, and in between I was also going through my copy of the Manorama Yearbook 2002, brushing up on some General Knowledge, because tomorrow afternoon is my SCMHRD (Symbiosis Centre for Management and HRD) entrance test.

Today was also the first day of 4th Year 2nd Semester at college, and the two subjects I have this time are Data Warehousing and Robotics.  As I said before it's on Fridays and Saturdays only, other days (excepting Sundays of course) it's project work.

Yesterday I also imported some textures from Blood and Quake III Demo and converted them to the Doom palette.  In my new WAD (I'm planning a level set) I'm going to have fun with them!

Dark Fate 2 — a Doom II map by Karthik Abhiram

Dark Fate 2 is a singleplayer level for Doom II, replacing MAP01.  It's a small-sized hellish level — and there's a walkthrough video as well.
